London marathon Fundraiser

Geoff Tinegate, who ran the London Marathon (26.2 miles) on 13th April 2008, successfully completed the run in 4 hours 5 minutes, raising £2,500 in support of the work of the Cornwall Mobility Centre.

A cheque for this amount will be presented to Lady Mary Holborrow (President of the Cornwall Mobility Centre Trustees) on Sunday 11 May at the Fun Day at Caerhays Castle (see below for further details of the Fun Day).

Sponsored sky dive

Two members of staff, Kevin and Carla, will be raising money for the centre by doing a sponsored sky dive. Unfortunately, this had to be cancelled due to bad weather, but a new date for the jump is being looked at. If you would like to sponsor either one or both of them please contact the centre.

Fun Day & Open Garden at Caerhays Castle Sunday 11 May 2008

The Friends of the Cornwall Mobility Centre will be holding a Fun Day and Open Garden at Caerhays Castle on Sunday 11 May 2008 from 10am - 5pm. Admission is £3.50. Please come along and support the Centre and enjoy: a Laser Clay Shoot, Novelty Dog Show, Choughs Wheelchair Dancers, Cornish Country Dancers, Fly Fishing Instruction, Nail Painting and much more!! Cornwall Mobility Centre Open Day

To celebrate its 21st anniversary, an Open Day will be held at the Cornwall Mobility Centre on Friday 5 September 2008, 10am - 5pm. Vehicles, vehicle adaptations, wheelchairs, paediatric equipment and equipment for the home will be on display. Staff from each department will be available to answer your questions or demonstrate equipment for you. Refreshments will also be available.

We now have a range of Adaptawear clothing available, including magnetic shirts and blouses (with magnet instead of button fastenings), Easy Fit velcro trousers (mens and ladies) and a front fastening bra with magnetic and hook and loop fastenings.
